The Barony of Shattered Crystal Welcomes You!
The Barony of Shattered Crystal is the local SCA branch for Madison, St. Clair counties, and the surrounding areas of Southwestern Illinois. The Barony is primarily based in the Belleville area of Illinois, and is part of the Middle Kingdom in the SCA.
Shattered Crystal is one of sixteen groups in the Midlands Region of the Middle Kingdom, the third oldest Kingdom in the SCA. Within the Middle Kingdom, we are bordered to the North by the Shire of Sword Cliffe, to the Canton of Blackstone Forge, and to the East by the College of St. Carol on the Moor. To our West the Barony of Three Rivers in the Kingdom of Calontir is our neighbor. We heartily invite you to browse our pages, attend our meetings and get to know us.
Please see our Newcomers Page for more information on how to get started.
About the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA)
The SCA is dedicated to researching pre-17th-century medieval and Renaissance history through re-creation; our goal is to put into practice the skills of those remarkable times. Where your typical Renaissance Faire encourages you to watch medieval activities being performed, we invite you to learn and create them yourself.
Throughout the world, members gather at events and meetings to share resources and enthusiasm. Almost every aspect of these ancient times is studied and enacted in Arts and Sciences competitions and martial tournaments. Whether you would become a warrior, scholar or artisan, seeking new friends or seeking activities for the whole family, there is a place for you. Come take a step back in time.
This page is held and managed by The Barony of Shattered Crystal, a branch of the Society for Creative Anachronism, Inc. and is considered the official presence of this group here.
