The Barony of Shattered Crystal is happy to welcome you to our Youth Pages.  We have been blessed with a wonderful Minister of Youth, Mistress Caroline de Mercier, who is tireless in her efforts to improve not only the minds and manners of our young folk, but is also dedicated to providing enriching, good-quality period entertainment and amusements for them as well.  She always has a bright smile, a funny story or a great game or activity tucked up her sleeve.  On behalf of the entire Barony, thank you, Mistress Caroline!

Here are some fun games using dice and simple diagrams...
SHUT-THE-BOX  2-4 Players
Played with 2 dice and 9 markers (can be anything)
Players roll one die to determine who goes first.
Game play is as follows:
Roll both die.  Place a marker in the box on the number rolled.
~If the number is already marked, the dice pass to the next player.
~If the numbers 7, 8, and 9 are all marked and one of those numbers is rolled, player may place a marker on any vacant number.
~If DOUBLES are rolled, and the corresponding number (up to 8) is not marked, player may mark that number, plus one of the single die numbers (8= 4, etc.)
~If 10, 11 or 12 are rolled, player may roll again - after the second roll, if 10, 11 or 12 are again rolled,  player must pass the dice to the next player.
~In the likely event that a player cannot place a marker in the box, that player's turn has ended.  Clear the markers, tally that player's score by adding the sum total of marked squares, and begin afresh with the next player.
The Winner is the Player with the highest score, OR whoever marks the entire box first.  This game can be played for coins or candies!
