We, Philippe and Rowan, Baron and Baroness of Shattered Crystal, do present this charter for the continuation of an academy of fence, to be called the Crystal Academy, to promote the courtly art of defense within our demesne, and honor upon the field.  The Academy shall be open to all members of the Barony.   Entry into the Academy shall be as Student of the Crystal Academy. 
Ranks:
1.  The rank of Gentle is obtained by the gain of Basic Fencing authorization and denoted by the wearing of a green scarf upon the left shoulder. 
2.  The second rank shall be Courtier, attained when a Gentle shows sufficient skill in the art of defense.  The Gentle must also pass a test of skill that will take place at an appropriate time and place, consisting of facing three members of the Academy, of higher rank, and then holding the field against all comers.  Courtiers will wear a blue and white scarf upon the left shoulder.
3.  The rank of Duelist shall be obtained when a Courtier shows increased skill and has provided service to the Academy and Barony.  Duelist must pass the same test as above.  The addition of a blue cord to the blue and white scarf shall identify a Duelist.
4.  The final rank shall be that of Maestro of the Crystal Academy.  To become a Maestro, a Duelist must show significant skill and have provided great service to the Academy and Barony as well as passing the test above.  The symbol of a Maestro shall be a blue and white cord.
