Site is a reproduction of Camp DuBois which was the starting point for the Lewis & Clark Expedition. This is a site built by volunteers. This is NOT the site built by the state of Illinos that is on Route 3. There is a fort on site, lots of open field, and a full restroom with running water & showers.

Activities:

Equestrian activities with authorizations in the morning & games in the afternoon.
Armored tournament & fort battle
Rapier tournament & fort battle
Archery during the day
Thrown weapons during the day (including Midlands Championship)

Overnight tent camping is allowed on site. The cabins in the fort are available but bunks are slat beds with no padding. Bring your own linens & padding if you want to stay in the cabins.

We are planning on having an open air feast in the evening

Campfires are permitted on site. Site is wet.
Site Fee: $7.00 (includes lunch on Saturday) $3.00 surcharge for non members.

Directions:

DO NOT try to mapquest this site. Use directions provided.
From I-255 go to Route 143 (Wood River/Edwardsville) and turn west toward Wood River. Go thru Wood River and over the Railroad overpass. Just after the overpass will be a sign to the right for Camp DuBois. Follow the road around the industrial type area and to the parking behind the fort.

OR

From I-270 to to Route 3 toward Alton. After Hartford, turn right onto Route 143 toward Wood River. Soon after turning onto Route 143 there will be a sign on the left for Camp DuBois. Follow the road around the industrial type area and to the parking behind the fort.
